My Static Lullaby

First and foremost, Happy Chinese New Year to all. And I really mean to all, since it's a public holiday for everyone. Heh. Yeah, everyone except for the fast-food restaurant people, and the 7eleven people, and that newspaper uncle, and the bus drivers, as well as the MRT drivers, and the LRT drivers, and other working people who were workable today.

So I was one of them who had to work on this public holiday. Shift started at 9am to 1pm. The bistro's a bit relaxed, or should I say lepak, unlike yesterday when everyone's life was getting messed up with every second ticked by. It's a good thing I'd only have 4 hours to work today. Hmmm.. It wasn't that bad actually.. I could have stayed and worked overtime.. The crew were like quite happening today. And I seemed to be the only Malay dude over there, while the others were like sweet-looking Malay dudettes... Hmmm... Heh.

So straight after work, I headed home. Rested for awhile. Watched some TV, (more like the TV watching me.) And then I had to pack. Since it's the holidays and Ibu had her day off, she decided that we all go to the beach. So yeah. We went to the beach! Ahaha.. Cool?

It was like some family vacation season. The Sembawang Park was so crowded that the only spot which was vacant was the open sea. Even the toilet was full house! Haha.. After some time searching, we finally found a spot under this shady tree. It was quite a nice piece of area. Friendly Makciks nearby. So I just slacked, simply laid there half naked on our mat with my bag as a resting place for my head. The wind was awesome. Really. Haha. It almost blew my cap off.

I planned to finish up The Alchemist by the end of the day, but I figured out that the scenery was undeniably beautiful. Kids running around with happy faces, the sight of happy family reunions, laughters, the sound of the waves crashing the ocean shores, the bluest skies filled with stratus clouds.. It was perfect.

So I just spent most of the time gazing at the sky, looking at the children play, enjoying the wind.. It really eased my mind. At least it put my soul to rest. Heh. I needed this; a break from all the thinking. Sometimes we need space for ourselves..

I really enjoyed today. Very much. As much as I enjoy living my life as it is. How I wish I could come back there again every single day.. Hmmm... Well, maybe I would. Maybe I would...

Note to Self:
the dunes are changed by the wind,
but the desert never changes..
