Album: The Feel Good Record Of The Year
Artist: No Use For A Name
One word: Awesome. A little bit of everything does the trick. Tony Sly's voice has greatly improved. Cool bass lines by Matt Riddle. More catchy melodies. Their 9th record proved that NUFAN is still one of the best melodic punk bands around. There's a mix of styles ranging from a kick-ass back-to-the-roots punk track, to standard NUFAN full-of-vocal-and-guitar-harmonies tracks, to catchy acoustic numbers. The one unique thing about this album is that there are quite a number of audio samples fitted to the songs. So you can expect more dialogues for intros and other stuff. My personal favourite would be I Want To Be Wrong. All in all, I give it 8.5/10.

Album: Career Suicide
Artist: A Wilhelm Scream
Like what the critiques said, it's raw, very fast, melodic, and pissed. Awesome songs and music arrangements. I just love their riffs. Oh, did I mention the arpeggio-16th-note bass lines in one of their tracks, The Horse? Though it's abit too unnecessary, it just shows AWS's great crazy ideas, in musical terms. Heh. The vocals is as raw and so full of angst as ever. But minus their vocals, it would make a great heavy instrumental album, with their changing time signatures and all. My personal favourite would be 5 To 9. The album is a very daring attempt. I give it 8/10. Shibby.
